Opening Balance explained

When you create an account, you can set an Opening Balance — the amount already in that account before you started tracking.

Important: Opening Balance is NOT income

Opening Balance is a starting point, not a transaction. It does not appear in your income totals or monthly reports.

Example

You have ₹10,000 in your savings account before installing Rasmerk. Set Opening Balance = ₹10,000. Your account shows the correct total without distorting your income report.

When to use it

• You are migrating from another app and want correct balances.
• You are starting mid-month and already have money in accounts.

Editing Opening Balance

Go to Accounts → tap the account → Edit → Opening Balance.
