Privacy Policy

Rasmerk ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Money Manager mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.

1. Data Collection

Money Manager is designed as an offline-first, privacy-first application. We collect no personal data on our servers. All data you enter or import (transactions, accounts, categories, budgets) is stored exclusively on your own device in a local SQLite database.

2. Data You Provide

• Transaction data (amounts, merchants, dates, categories)
• Account names and aliases
• Budget limits and categories
• Friends and loan records

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the Export feature to share a file or choose to back up to Google Drive.

3. SMS Access

On Android, the App requests permission to read your SMS inbox to automatically detect and import bank and UPI transaction messages. This processing happens entirely on your device. No SMS content is transmitted to any external server. This permission is optional - you may decline it and use manual entry instead.

4. Camera and Photos

The Receipt OCR feature uses your device camera or photo gallery to extract transaction information using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. Receipt images are processed locally and are not uploaded to Rasmerk servers or any external service.

5. Permissions Summary

Permission	Purpose
SMS	Detect and import bank transaction SMS automatically. Optional - you may decline.
Camera / Photos	Scan receipts with ML Kit OCR for automatic transaction extraction. Optional.
Notifications	Daily reminders and budget alerts. Optional - you may disable in device settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party SDKs, each with their own privacy policies:

Service	Purpose and Data Collected
Google AdMob	Shows ads in the free version of the App. May use the Advertising ID for ad delivery and fraud prevention. See Google Privacy Policy.
Firebase Analytics	Anonymous usage analytics only (e.g., which screens are visited, feature usage counts). No transaction amounts, merchant names, SMS contents, receipt text, bank account numbers, or personal financial data are collected.
Firebase Crashlytics	Crash diagnostics only. Collects device model, OS version, and stack traces when the app crashes. Financial data is excluded from crash reports.
Firebase Performance Monitoring	Collects app performance metrics such as app start time and screen render times. No personal or financial data.
Google Drive API	Optional encrypted backup stored in your private appDataFolder - a hidden storage area invisible to other apps and not visible in your Google Drive UI. Activated only when you explicitly choose to back up. Restore is always available for free users.
Google Play Billing	Processes subscriptions and one-time purchases (Premium). Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play. Rasmerk does not receive or store your payment information.
Google ML Kit	On-device text recognition for receipt scanning. No images or text are uploaded to any server. Processing is fully local.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored locally on your device. You can enable PIN or biometric protection via the App Lock feature. We recommend enabling this feature and keeping your device secure. Google Drive backups are encrypted before upload.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Data Deletion

Because all data is stored locally, you have complete control over it. To delete all your data, simply uninstall the App or clear the App's storage in your device settings. If you use Google Drive backups, you can delete the backup by managing hidden app data in Google Drive.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do so.
